We've Found The Most Authentic Foreign Cuisines In Brisbane

Source: Ole Restaurant

Have you ever wanted to jump on a plane just to get a truly authentic fix of your favourite cuisine? Unfortunately we don't all own private jets so we've found the next best thing. Here are the most authentic feeds right on your doorstep!

El Torito, West End
Around since 1996, this place does authentic Mexican flavours with a wide variety of margarita tequilas. What more could you want?

Fiesta Ole, Auchenflower
It's been described as ‘very Mexican’ by Mexican’s themselves. Fun fact: you won’t find any hard shell tacos because apparently you won’t find them in Mexico either!

Big Fortune Chinese Restaurant, New Farm
Clean, fresh and tasty - not what you usually think of when you hear 'Chinese food' in Australia, but this place delivers the goods

Little Taipei Foodcourt, Sunnybank
Technically there’s pretty much any kind of Asian you could want but we HAD to throw it in. Tucked away from the main Market Square, this little gem has some of the most authentic Asian food our fine city has to offer. We’ve heard the dumplings are AMAZING!

The Smoke BBQ, New Farm
Think BBQ ribs, buffalo wings, brisket, pork belly and onion rings. Maybe the American’s really do BBQ better than us Aussie’s…

Twelve Boar, Cleveland
These guys do burgers and loaded fries like no one else. It’s a bit of a hike from the city but so worth the trip.

Peasant Restaurant, Petrie Terrace
This place has an awesome vibe and we hear the Crema Catalana is a must try!

Ole, Southbank
This place is ALWAYS busy, which must be a good sign. If you want to try it out they do a $50 special on Thursday and Sunday’s which includes two tapas, two raciones and a jug of sangria.

Il Centro, Eagle Street
They’re well known for awesome service and their sand crab lasagne.

1889 Enoteca, Woolloongabba
If you’re after a fine dining experience, this place knows how to deliver. Recommendations: gnocchi and tiramisu!

Zum Kaiser, Woolloongabba
It’s a ‘members only’ establishment but you can sign up on the spot and it’s so worth it. A huge selection of German beers and no shortage of pork knuckle makes for a great night!

Black Forest Restaurant, Highgate Hill
We hear the German breakfast is a must try - complete with German sausage, ham mustard, potato salad and of course, beer!

Hai-hai Ramen, Paddington
If it wasn’t obvious by the name, Ramen is kind of their thing!

Oishii Sushi Bar, Sunnybank Hills
There’s sushi and then there’s SUSHI. If you’re after some of the authentic stuff, check this place out.

Montrachet, Paddington
Word on the street is their Supper Club degustation is worth a visit. Oh, and they’ve got a solid wine menu!

Chouquette, New Farm
This little gem of a bakery is your ultimate destination for authentic French sweet treats and pastries. Good luck trying to choose just one!

Tan Tanh, Inala
Attention, attention! BEST PHO IN TOWN!

Trang Restaurant, Wollongong
You’ll forget you’re in Wollongong when you’re tucking into this cheap Vietnamese goodness.
