Queensland is currently in the midst of a massive jellyfish invasion.
Over 22,000 bluebottle stings have been reported on the Sunshine Coast’s beaches since December 1 with Noosa and Mooloolaba beach each recording around 3000 stings, according to the Sunshine Coast Daily.
Incredible pictures have emerged of the beach at Deception Bay completely covered with jellyfish. These pictures prove that you might want to think twice before heading out for a swim this week.
North-easterly winds are expected to continue until Saturday and then swing easterly on Sunday, which means we might have to battle this invasion of jellyfish for a while longer.
