Queensland University Struck Down By Gastro Outbreak

A gastro outbreak has hit a Queensland university in the middle of O-Week.

It is understood that 21 students living on campus have been struck down by the illness.

Metro North Public Health Unit have confirmed 19 cases of gastroenteritis at the University of Queensland's Kings College and a further two at Grace College.

This comes just a week before the semester officially begins.

"All students have been placed in separate accommodation to try to limit any infection of other students," Dr James Smith said in a statement, reports AAP.
