A female taxi driver in Queensland had her nose broken when she was punched in the face by a male passenger as he stole her money and cab.
The 32-year-old woman had to walk 1.5 kilometres for help in the early hours of Sunday after being attacked at Mount Isa.
It's alleged the incident occurred shortly after 4am when the pair were mid-way through a trip.
When the taxi slowed, the man allegedly grabbed the steering wheel and jumped across to the driver's side of the car, demanding her phone and money.
He then punched her in the face, breaking her nose, and ordered her from the vehicle.
Police found the stolen taxi and money a few hours later, and arrested a 21-year-old Townview man over the incident.
He will face court on Monday charged with robbery with violence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving while unlicensed and possessing dangerous drugs.
