More #RailFail For QR - Now There's Design Flaws With The New Fleet

Even more headaches for Queensland Rail.

Every single one of the state's 143 train station will have to be modified, thanks to design flaws with the new state-of-the-art fleet.

Engineers are scrambling to fix several issues discovered in testing including trains breaking too heavily while many drivers say they can't see out of the windshields properly, making it dangerous to stop at stations. The fleet won't be able to carry passengers until the problems are fixed.

The first train's meant to be carrying commuters by mid-2017. Only three of thirteen new fleet trains have been tested, none of them passing initial testing.

The continuing headaches follow last year's driver shortage that saw widespread cancellation across the rail network and the overhaul of QR management.
