Did you feel like you wasted the Easter long weekend? Too much Netflix and sitting around at home? Luckily you’ve got two more chances to make up for it.
Your first opportunity for a long weekend re-do comes this weekend with ANZAC Day. While not exactly a true long weekend due to ANZAC Day falling on a Tuesday, plenty of people have opted to take off the Monday and create another four-day weekend.
If that doesn’t work for you, fear not. Monday May 1st is Labour Day, which gives you a three-day weekend just one week later.
So what are you going to do?
While there's a bit of rain forecast in the coming days, that shouldn't stop you from getting out and about. Hit one of the great hiking trails around Brisbane like Mt Coot-tha’s Summit Track or Greenes Falls in D’Aguilar National Park. Or if the sun comes out visit one of the beaches locals don’t want you to know about.
There's plenty on over the next few weekends in Brisbane! The Queensland Art Gallery & Gallery Of Modern Art will be open all weekend, as will the Museum of Brisbane and the Queensland Museum. If you've always planned to visit but never made it, maybe this is your chance?
Eat A Lot
Go out for breakfast at least once at your favourite local, or make plans to meet up with friends for a drink. The Brisbane Beer Festival is on this weekend at Eatons Hill Hotel and Function Centre! Get amongst one of this season's biggest food trends by trying a Poke Bowl or visit one of Brisbane's best vegan restaurants.
Attend ANZAC Day Services
This year, make it a priority. The Dawn Service at the Shrine Of Remembrance begins at 4.28am. The ANZAC Day Parade starts at 10am at the corner of Adelaide and George Streets. You can also find your local services on the RSL Queensland website.
