Winter has arrived right on cue in South East Queensland.. the mercury dipping the lowest it's been in more than 9 months.
June 1 brought temps of 10.4° in Brisbane city, a degree or two below average, while Ipswich suffered even more.
"For Ipswich, it was 1.4° [at 6.30am] which is 6° below average for June", said the Bureau of Meteorology's Janine Yuasa.
"The last time it was this cold was September last year so basically the end of the cold season I guess"
As for why? You can blame the beautiful, clear blue skies for that!
Heading into the rest of the week, the weather bureau's predicting more of the same from tomorrow right through to the middle of next week.
According to the bureau, while south-eastern Australia had a strong chance of experiencing a warmer than normal winter, that was less certain to be the case in Queensland.
