Donations Pouring In For Salisbury War Veteran Left Homeless After Ferocious Fire gofundme/seven news

Hundreds of generous people have opened their wallets to raise funds for 99-year-old Brisbane local Arthur "Bob" Jackson, left homeless after a devastating fire ripped through his Salisbury home on Sunday night.

The World War II veteran was reportedly cooking dinner when the stove caught alight, neighbours managed to pluck him out before the flames quickly ripped through but sadly most of his possessions were completely destroyed, he also lost one of his beloved dogs with a second still unaccounted for.

Firefighters were able to salvage a few of his war medals, which were singed by the blaze.

A GoFundMe page created on Monday to help Bob recover and rebuild his life has already raised almost $10,000, with a goal of $50,000.
