Two Central Victorian men are in serious but stable conditions in hospital after being airlifted to Melbourne following two separate incidents on the weekend.

A 37 year old man suffered head injuries after his car hit a tree and rolled on private property in Craigie south of Maryborough on Saturday night.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Majorca Rd near the corner of Pryces Rd just after 6.30pm with reports of a man trapped in his car by a tree branch.

SES and CFA crews worked to free the man before he was flown to the Royal Melbourne hospital for treatment.

While a 57 year old Strathfieldsaye man’s recovering in the Alfred after his motorbike collided with a car on Allies road in Maiden Gully yesterday morning.

The car - which was driven by a 37 year old Corio man - is believed to have performed a u-turn when it swung into the path of the rider - who was sitting 4th in a pack of 5 other bikes.

The rider suffered serious leg and internal injuries in the accident.
