Victoria Police are ramping up patrols around Bendigo Train Station and Hargreaves Mall this week.
During Wednesday and Thursday, people can expect to see a lot more officers around the CBD in response to continued concerns about antisocial behaviour by young people.
This follows another assault in the center of Bendigo.
A 14 year old girl was set on by a group of young people Wednesday May 17 while at a Mitchell Street bus stop.
Bendigo Police have spoken to a number of people believed to be involved in the attack.
Inspector Shane Brundell expects this week's operation will help make people feel more safe in the CBD and train station.
“A strong partnership approach between police, the local council, traders and the community will endeavour to effectively tackle both the causes of these social issues, and any further public order incidents.”
Any member of the community who has any concerns about safety or crime-related issues can contact the Bendigo Police Station on 5448 1300 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Anyone requiring emergency assistance is urged to call Triple Zero (000).
