Local residents are being encouraged to ‘save the date’, Saturday 3rd June for an exciting new event.
Albany’s Historic Whaling Station’s inaugural Welcoming the Whales Festival will take place on Saturday 3rd June, 10am to 2pm. This festival celebrates the return of the whales to local waters and recognises the value of whale watching to our tourism industry.

Albany has a unique history surrounding the whales which grace our shores and this festival will bring those stories to life, connecting our past with the present.

The Albany whale watching season commences on this June long weekend and runs until October.

Supported by the City of Albany and Discover Albany Foundation the festival will feature whale themed fun and activities for all ages, live music, roving entertainment, food, heritage and folklore.

Welcoming the Whales Festival is a free community event.
