Albany Suspicious Death Investigation

Homicide Squad Detectives will visit Albany this week to continue their investigations into the
death of a 56 year old woman in Borden on 6 December 2008.

Susi Elizabeth Johnston died in a vehicle fire at her farm in Borden near Albany on the
morning of Saturday 6 December 2008.

Mrs Johnston was the only passenger in a vehicle which is believed to have left a farm road
and hit a tree. She was unable to escape the subsequent fire in the vehicle, and was located
deceased by emergency services.

The male driver of the vehicle escaped without serious injury.
Detective Sergeant Luke Fowler of Homicide Squad said that recent information received has
led to a thorough review of the matter.

“This is complex investigation that not only involves examining the crash itself, but also
piecing together the whole circumstances leading to Mrs Johnston’s death,” Det Sgt Fowler
said.

“We are asking anyone with information that can assist in this investigation to call Crime
Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a report online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.”
