In the most Aussie news story of the day, the Art Gallery of South Australia has had to turn people away from its multimillion dollar Colours of Impressionism: Masterpieces from the Musée d’Orsay exhibition while staff attempted to catch a bird.
The poor bird, who was obviously a lover of Monet and Renoir, was chased for three hours before staff most likely said “Hey, you’re a bird. You can’t be looking at these amazing paintings. What if you touch one with your dirty, feathered wing or poop on it like you do our cars?” and removed it from the gallery.
Take a look:
Yep, that went on for three hours.
The gallery has since apologised for those who missed out on seeing the famous paintings but assured doors are back open today, with the exhibition running until the end of July. They’ve also confirmed that the bird is safe and well.
Could you imagine if we just retuned a Monet covered in bird sh*t though?
