South Australia Is Still The Problem Child Of NAPLAN Testing

Hundreds of thousands of students from grades 3, 5, 7 and 9 have scored below the national average in every test in every year level.

They’re also falling behind in terms of meeting the national minimum standard.

SA is in fact the worst performing mainland State in 16 out of 20 categories.

But, our Year 7's do rank third in Reading, Writing and Grammar and Punctuation.

The poor scores have reignited a political blame game over funding and classroom strategies.

As a result, local schools will get almost $70 million more in funding to try and lift grades.
