A female police officer has been hit by a car at West Lakes overnight.
The 22 year old driver failed to stop at a random breath-testing station, knocking her over as he took off.
But patrols soon gave chase.
The driver from Glanville eventually hit a tree and was taken into custody.
He was later charged with a string of offences including endanger life, drive dangerous to evade Police, drive disqualified and failing to provide oral drug sample.
He has been refused bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
While a woman passenger in the car was not arrested.
Thankfully, the officer only suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.
