More Planes Could Be Flying Into Adelaide During Curfew

This could be annoying for residents living along the Adelaide Airport flight-path.

The Federal Government wants more reasons for planes to be given approval to breach curfew.

They want pilots to be able to request takeoff and landing between 11pm and 6am.

Exceptional circumstances could include: flights that were due to land before curfew but are delayed because of mechanical failure, offloading baggage due to passengers failing to board, re-screening of passengers or baggage for security purposes and unavailability of the main runway.

The change would bring us inline with Sydney Airport and is understood to be part of counter-terrorism operations.

Just over 1,000 aircrafts flew during curfew between April and June this year, more than half for emergencies.

This could mean noisy nights for residents.
