More Cases Of Meningococcal In Adelaide

Another Adelaide man's been hospitalised with Meningococcal.

The 58 year old is in a serious condition after contracting the W-strain of the disease.

He's the eighth case recorded in SA so far this year and the third with that strain.

Three people have been diagnosed with the B-strain and two the Y.

SA Health has advised anyone he's been in contact with to receive antibiotics.

For kids - 

Refusal to feed

Leg pain

Cold hands and feet

Tiny red of purple spots that spread to look like fresh bruises

While in older kids and adults - 

Headache

Fever

Vomiting

Neck stiffness

Drowsiness or confusion

The distinctive rash
