The Port Pirie community is rallying behind a local mother after the death of her 2 and a half year old son.
The toddler was killed when the family car rolled over him after they'd stopped for a toilet break on the side of an unsurfaced Port Davis Rd yesterday morning.
It's understood the car lurched out of gear and despite the efforts of Ambulance crews, he sadly passed away.
His 29 year old mother was taken to hospital in shock while the father was notified at work by Emergency Services.
The boy's baby sister remained in the car at the time of the accident.
The tragedy has reportedly hit the community hard with the whole family all Pirie-based.
Sgt Griggs said it was a hard day for crews who arrived first to the scene.
