The City is getting behind same-sex marriage by offering free weddings in local parklands and squares.
Lord Mayor Martin Haese has announced they’ll scrap hire fees if the marriage equality bill passes Parliament as promised, before Christmas.
That would give all couples the chance to save funds on marriages around the City between January 1 and June 30.
Normally it would cost between $27-60 per 1,000sqm per day.
While other wedding venues have been inundated with enquiries from same-sex couples should the laws change.
