Adelaide Cup Ambassador Ellie Brown Shares Her Hot Tips

The 2017 Ubet Adelaide Cup is just around the corner and if you're anything like us, you've probably left your outfit to the last minute!

To lend a hand, we checked in with ambassador and partner of Crows captain Tex Walker - Ellie Brown for her race day tips.

Hot tips for lasting a day at the races?

A champagne breakfast always seems like a good idea, but if you want to last the day and enjoy everything the races has to offer it’s probably a good idea to skip the champagne breakfast. Don't jump the gun and make sure you pace yourself - after all what's the rush!

Fashion favourites for 2017 racing?

This year I think it's all about a feminine and elegant look. A beautiful pastel or floral dress paired with a statement hat or headpiece is key. A classic look will always turn heads and steer clear of too much black.

What would we find in your handbag at Adelaide Cup?

Lipstick, mints and perfume.

What will you be looking for in the Myer Fashions On The Field?

Definitely someone who has thought about their outfit as a whole. Their headpiece, shoes, bag and accessories should all complement the perfect dress. Also remember to pick an outfit that makes you feel good and one that is comfortable!

Advice on how to stay classy towards the end of the day?

Make sure you never wear new shoes. There is nothing worse than seeing a girl walking out of the races barefoot.

How do you pick your horses for betting?

Like most girls I usually pick my favourite number or colour! But I do always have a peak at Taylor's racing guide to see what horses he has picked - he usually gets good mail.

What is Tex’s best race wear getup?

A great pair of chinos, a white shirt and a light blue blazer always looks classy at the races. Pair that together with brown RM boots and a knitted tie or bow tie.
