First Day Of Winter

Adelaide's Coldest Day This Year

You may've had the heater on for longer... if not all night... last night.

It's been a freezing start to Winter with temps getting in the minuses in parts of the State including the Hills.

The mercury's dropped to below 2 degrees in the City and as low as .4 further out in Nuriootpa.

That makes it our coldest day since August last year.

While a severe frost warning's been issued for crop growers in the Riverland.

But despite frosty mornings the Bureau says we can expect a drier than average season.

The good conditions for snow-making means the eastern States are officially on snow watch.

Mt Buller will open their slopes a week early tomorrow.
